Youth Lacrosse League Overview

Welcome to CDC Boys Lacrosse!

CDC Lacrosse is focused on providing a complete instructional program that matriculates the lacrosse skills of each participant, while emphasizing fun, fair play, and good sportsmanship. Our hope is that we can be a positive influence for each player and translate these experiences into positive attributes that resonate in their character in the future. The program takes pride in creating an inclusive environment for all participates - beginners to advanced players. We work closely with the CHS lacrosse coaches to ensure a supportive and developmentally appropriate experience.

AGE DIVISIONS-BOYS

1st / 2nd Grade – The 1/2 group will play in full lacrosse gear (Helmet, chest pad, gloves, elbow pads, mouth guard, athletic cup). Practices will be held on Sundays only at the CHS Upper Turf.  The goal of the 1st / 2nd grade league is to introduce the basic concepts of throwing, catching, cradling, dodging, and shooting.  The first 45 minutes will be dedicated to proper instruction of basic lacrosse skills.  The final 30 minutes will be dedicated to a controlled game simulated scrimmage. Games will be small-sided. Season will run early April through end of May.

10U – The 10U group will play in the Indiana Youth Lacrosse AssociationTeams will be filled through the CDC spring registration process beginning in January. The 10U group will have two practices a week (Mon and Wed) at CHS Upper Turf and will play games (6 v 6) versus both the surrounding communities and intra-club. The group will practice all together. Depending on participation numbers, teams will be formed based on ability following evaluations at the start of the season. Season will run early April through the end of May.

Those trying out but not being selected for the Pups team will be automatically registered for the Select team.

All 12U teams will play in the Indiana Youth Lacrosse Association at the appropriate level.  The Pups will begin training in January and will play in one overnight tournament in South Bend on April 30/May 1.  The other 12U team will begin practice late March and will play all games in the Hamilton County area. Spring practices for both teams will be two days a week (Mon and Wed) at CHS Upper Turf. Games for the Pups will be scheduled March through end of May.  Games for 12U Select will begin after spring break.

14U – We anticipate at least two teams at the 14U level-Hounds and 14U Select.  Tryouts for the top team (Hounds) will be held on October 19 and 20, 2021 at CHS Murray Field.  The other 14U team will be filled though the CDC spring registration process beginning in January.
