2020-21 Pups Cheer Tryouts

Grade Levels: 3rd-6th for the 2020-21 school year

Registration is required to participate in tryouts and will open May 22. You can find the link to the registration on the pups cheer leading page, registration page or by logging into your account to see available programs.

Please wear blue shorts, white shirt and yellow bow and bring a water bottle labeled.

TRAVEL CHEERLEADING OVERVIEW

PUPS TRAVEL CHEER GRADES 
3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Grades.

TRYOUTS 
Tryouts will be held after June 14th- information coming soon!  It is expected that all participants will attend each tryout date if at all possible. The rosters will be announced within a week following the end of tryouts.

SEASON DURATION
 
The Pups Football Cheer season  (6th Grade Girls only) begins in July and continues into late October depending on the advancement of the Pups Football team in playoffs. Practice will begin after Fall Break with games starting around the middle of November, unless a team plays in a Halloween tournament in which case, they will start playing at the end of October.  Pups Basketball Cheer Season (3rd-6th Grade) starts in late October and runs through the end of February.

TEAMS
It is our goal to field squads at each each age level depending on the number of eligible participants.

RECOMMENDED MAXIMUM GAMES PER SEASON 
The coaches will work with the commissioner to determine the game schedule for the season in coordination with their respective travel team (pups football or pups basketball).
 
PRACTICES 
Based in part on a high demand for court  time across multiple sports and age groups, Pups teams will typically practice 1-2 nights per week per night at a Carmel High School Cafeteria .  

SEVERE WEATHER POLICY

The decision as to whether fields are playable rests with the CDC Staff or their representative.

No outdoor practice or game shall begin with a STORM WARNING (Thunderstorm/Tornado) in effect at the start time of said practice/game.

Mandatory 30 minute wait when lightning and/or thunder is observed. Fields must be cleared. This 30 minute wait will restart at each observed lightning and/or thunder.
