2019 Spring Aerial Football

Spring Aerial Football 

Aerial Football is touch football played on Sundays only at Carmel High School Stadium and Upper Turf Fields. The focus is on the passing game and allowing more players the opportunity to touch the ball. There is no tackling in aerial football.

Aerial football can be played with most sports but there may be conflicts on dates when soccer or lacrosse plays on Sundays. Please see the league commissioners with specific scheduling questions.

**All players registering for rec league will be placed on a team. Requests for teammates/coaches cannot be guaranteed. Refunds will not be given when requests cannot be met.**

The deadline for refunds is March 1, 2018. Please see the website or contact the CDC Office 317-846-1663 for information on requesting a refund.

2019 Spring Season

Registration begins January 1
Aerial football is offered for 2nd-8th graders on Sunday afternoons only. There is no weeknight practice. Players may participate in another spring sport in addition to aerial football with minimal conflicts.

The season runs April 14- June 2.  Games run between 1-5 pm at CHS Football Fields.

Aerial Football Program Overview

Welcome to CDC Aerial Football!
Aerial Football enables players to enjoy the sport of football without the aspect of tackling.  Players will learn the passing game and be able to try different positions regardless of size and ability. The purpose of CDC's aerial football program is to provide an opportunity for the participants to have fun, learn the sport and develop life skills including a lifelong love of the game.

2nd Grade
3rd-4th Grade
5th-6th Grade
7th-8th Grade

Spring- Sundays only (may be played as a second sport) 
Season runs mid-April thru early June.

$85.00 season

In addition to the sports fee, families are asked to pay an membership fee of $50 once per year.  All families are required to volunteer during the season, but can choose to opt-out of volunteering by paying $25

Carmel Dads' club requires every family to pay $25 or work a two-hour shift in the concession stand for a sporting event.  Athletes whose parents serve as a league commissioner, head coach or team sponsor are exempt from this requirement.


Registration for Spring - Aerial Football is open early January- late February.

Special requests are taken into consideration such as coach request, and buddy request; however, sport fees cannot be refunded  in the event we are not able to accommodate your requests.

 *Refund Policy – If you register your child(ren) for one of our sports programs and then opt for them not to participate, refund requests are grated AS LONG AS the refund request is made during that sport season’s regular open registration period.  Refunds are NOT given if requested after open registration unless there is a medical reason you child cannot participate.  For more information or if you have questions or concerns regarding this refund policy, please contact the office.

Aerial Football is a play-only league offered on Sunday afternoons at Carmel HS Stadium and Upper Turf Practice Fields between mid- april and late May.

CDC will provide uniform jerseys.  Players are asked to supply their own football pants or shorts, mouth piece, water bottle. Game balls are provided.

The decision as to whether fields are playable rests with the CDC Staff or their representative.

No outdoor practice or game shall begin with a STORM WARNING (Thunderstorm/Tornado) in effect at the start time of said practice/game.

Mandatory 30 minute wait when lightning and/or thunder is observed. Fields must be cleared. This 30 minute wait will restart at each observed lightning and/or thunder.

volunteer opportunities

All families are asked to fulfill a volunteer obligation by working as Head Coach, Team Sponsor, Sport Commissioner, Concession Worker or paying the Opt-Out Fee when they have a child playing in this sport.

Volunteer coaches are needed for every team. Please consider volunteering as head coach when registering your child. 

Head Coaches are asked to attend a coaches meeting before the season starts and will receive rosters, schedule and uniforms. Coaches will sign up for their practice time by calling the office at their scheduled time and selecting from available times and locations.
