Soccer recreational league overview

Welcome to CDC Soccer!

Recreational soccer is primarily devoted to the enjoyment and development of soccer players without the emphasis on travel or high-level competition.  The purpose of recreational soccer is to provide an opportunity for the participants to have fun, learn the sport and develop life skills including a lifelong love of the game.

Carmel Dads' Club offers soccer leagues for boys and girls starting at age 4 through high school.

Soccer has two seasons:
·         Fall, which runs mid August through October
·         Spring, which runs April through early June

Children participating in the PreK league must turn 4 by April 1st for the spring season and by Sept 1st for the fall season.

CDC offers Soccer in both the Spring and Fall. The Spring Season runs mid-April through early June. The Fall Season starts mid-August and runs to mid October.  No games are scheduled during fall break. 

Sport Fee: $105 per season.  In addition to the sports fee, families are asked to pay a membership fee of $50 once per year.  All families are required to volunteer during the season, but can choose to opt-out of volunteering by paying $25.

Carmel Dads' club requires every family to pay $25 or work a two-hour shift in the concession stand for a sporting event.  Athletes whose parents serve as a league commissioner, head coach or team sponsor are exempt from this requirement.


Registration for Spring is open January 1st and goes through February 21st. Fees increase February 22nd. 
Registration for Fall is open Early May – Mid-June.

Refund Deadline for spring is March 1st. 

Special requests are taken into consideration such as practice dates, side of town, coach request, and buddy request; however, sport fees cannot be refunded after DATE in the event we are not able to accommodate your requests.

 *Refund Policy – If you register your child(ren) for one of our sports programs and then opt for them not to participate, refund requests are granted AS LONG AS the refund request is made during that sport season’s regular open registration period.  Refunds are NOT given if requested after open registration unless there is a medical reason your child cannot participate.  For more information or if you have questions or concerns regarding this refund policy, please contact the office.

All of the divisions are “house league” teams.  They play only other CDC teams.  For divisions PreK-4th, games are held at Badger Field for families that request the east side of Carmel and at Shelborne Field for families that request the west side.  Older divisions (5th-12th) are not guaranteed side of town. 

All leagues will have one practice per week and Saturday/Sunday games except for the PreK and Kindergarten Leagues.  These age groups will have 15 minutes of practice prior to each Saturday/Sunday game.

Practice nights and locations are at a public location, set at the discretion of the coaches. This is just one of the benefits of volunteering to coach your child's team.

CDC will provide uniform jerseys and socks.  Players are asked to supply their own ball, shorts, shin guards, soccer cleats (optional for younger age groups).

The decision as to whether fields are playable rests with the CDC Staff or their representative.

No outdoor practice or game shall begin with a STORM WARNING (Thunderstorm/Tornado) in effect at the start time of said practice/game.

Mandatory 30 minute wait when lightning and/or thunder is observed. Fields must be cleared. This 30 minute wait will restart at each observed lightning and/or thunder.

volunteer opportunities

All families are asked to fulfill a volunteer obligation by working as Head Coach, Team Sponsor, Sport Commissioner, Concession Worker or paying the Opt-Out Fee when they have a child playing in this sport.

Volunteer coaches are needed for every team. Please consider volunteering as head coach when registering your child.  Head Coaches are asked to attend a coaches’ meeting before the season starts and will receive rosters, schedule and uniforms. Coaches will sign up for their practice time by calling the office at their scheduled time and selecting from available times and locations.
