CDC Pups Travel Football

          Welcome to the Carmel Pups Travel Football Webpage

Mission Statement:
To develop and prepare our players with the knowledge, skills and fundamentals to compete on the football field against the highest level of competition in the state.  To also help instill good sportsmanship, character, leadership skills and a strong connection to the Carmel High School Football program.  To provide a positive and rewarding experience to help build a passion and love for the game of football.  To prepare players to compete at the Junior High and High School level.

Monday, April 24:  Equipment distribution for Pups tryouts, 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm, Shelbourne Soccer Fields
Friday, April 28:  Equipment distribution for Pups tryouts, 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm, Shelbourne Soccer Fields
Monday-Wednesday, May 8-10:  Pups tryouts, 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, CHS Upper Fields
Wednesday, May 31:  Pups Team Meeting, 6:00 pm, CHS Community Room
Monday –Friday, July 10-14:  Pups Team Camp, 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, Wodock Field
Monday-Thursday, July 10-13:  Carmel Football Passing Camp, 8:30 am to 10:30 am, CHS, 5th thru 8th grades
Monday-Tuesday, July 17 & 18:  CHS Kicking Camp, 10:30 am to noon, CHS, 1st thru 8th grades
Monday-Friday, July 17-20:  CHS Scrimmage Camp, 8:30 am to 10:30 am, CHS, 5th thru 8th grades
Monday-Friday, July 24-28:  Pups Practice, 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, Wodock Field
Monday-Friday, July 31-August 4:  Pups Practice, 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, Wodock Field
Saturday, August 5:  IEFA Weigh-Ins and Scrimmages, Location and Time TBD

CDC Pups Travel Football Overview

The Carmel Dads' Club offers a fun, challenging and competitive environment for advanced players who are ready to hone in on their basketball skills. We will focus on player development and improving each participant’s fundamentals and knowledge of the game.

ELIGIBLE GRADE LEVELS
5th and 6th Grades

TRYOUTS
Tryouts will begin in mid May over the course of 2-3 evenings.  It is expected that all boys will attend all sessions of tryouts if at all possible.  The tryouts are run by the Carmel High School Coaching Staff and General Manager of Pups Football.

SEASON DURATION 
Pups pre-season camp will start in mid/late July and the season will run through October or early November depending on advancement to the state championship.

TEAMS 
The team will consist of 5th and 6th grade boys not to exceed 33 players in accordance with IEFA rules and regulations.

RECOMMENDED MAXIMUM GAMES PER SEASON 
There will be 8 regular season "A" games and the possibility of 4 playoff games depending on advancement to the state championship." B" games will vary.
 
PRACTICES 
Practices will be held on Tues, Wed, Thurs nights. In the event there is no B game on Monday night practice may be held. All practices are held at Wodock Field (behind Carmel Elementary School).

2017 Pups Roster- Tryouts in May

We would like to thank all the players that attended Pups tryouts this year. Thank you to Coach Hebert as well as the HS Coaching Staff for conducting evaluations and selecting the team. We appreciate your committment to the program.

Players selected to the team need to accept their spot by replying to the email confirmation or logging into your CDC account and accepting on the "my account" page. Payments will be required prior to the team meeting in early June. Payment can be made directly through your CDC account.

Players that did not make the team are encourage to participate in the house league. All players will be moved to the house league unless a parent contacts the office to request a sport change or refund. This must be done before July 1.

SEVERE WEATHER POLICY

The decision as to whether fields are playable rests with the CDC Staff or their representative.

No outdoor practice or game shall begin with a STORM WARNING (Thunderstorm/Tornado) in effect at the start time of said practice/game.

Mandatory 30 minute wait when lightning and/or thunder is observed. Fields must be cleared. This 30 minute wait will restart at each observed lightning and/or thunder.
