The Carmel Dad’s Club travel lacrosse program has a very proud history of success. Now that lacrosse is a sanctioned Carmel High School varsity sport the Carmel Dad’s Club lacrosse travel program takes on an even greater level of visibility and responsibility to prepare our players and teams to be able to compete together as they graduate to the next level. One of the best ways to achieve this goal is to keep our teams playing together longer.
Please note, starting with the spring 2019 season the travel season will officially conclude at the end of June 2019. We have added two additional official tournaments in June. Tentatively we will attend the Buckeye Classic tournament in Cincinnati, OH and finish the season at The Grail in Westfield, IN. Practices will continue throughout June on the normal practice schedule.
The travel youth coaches and CHS lacrosse program have had detailed conversations about this program enhancement. The CHS lacrosse coaches are highly supportive of this approach as we prepare our players for the next level under their leadership.
As a reminder, by signing the CDC Travel Sports Code of Conduct, we do not allow players to play with competing travel programs during the season if they are in direct conflict with an official CDC regular season practice, game or tournament. Failure to comply will result suspension from future games and/or tournaments.
Estimated cost of both teams is $600-$700. This price assumes parent coaches for both teams. If acceptable paid candidates are found this price may increase. We will determine if we will have a select team at each age group after the tryouts.
Tryout registration will open on Oct 2 www.carmeldadsclub.org . You can log into your account or go to the TRAVEL LAX page or general registration page to register.
Carmel Invitational Volunteer Information
Starting with the 2019 Carmel Invitational, volunteer hours will be assigned. Every effort will be made to make the assignments that don’t conflict with your son’s games. Volunteers will be required to sign in, expected to stay for their entire shift and sign out. Failure to show or complete assigned shifts will result in a $50 penalty. We are fortunate to host this event each season and provide this opportunity to our families. It allows our athletes to play on their home fields at Carmel HS. We will be looking for a volunteer coordinator and anyone interested can contact Kirk or Greg (emails below).
If you have any questions, please contact Kirk Prosser at [email protected] or Greg Buckhout at [email protected]
