Game/Practice schedules will be posted later.
For games, we will dress no more than 20 girls. Playing time is NOT guaranteed for any games. Rosters will be created no later than 1 week prior to each scheduled game. For games outside of Indiana, only the kids making the rosters will be charged for the tournament fees. Selection of rosters are also not guaranteed, and the criteria for the rosters will be based on the players' skills, attititude (most important), coachability, availability and eligibility (school grades).
If we enter tournaments that offer a 5th/6th and 3rd/4th grade divisions, we may try to enter a team for that level. This may require asking some rising 5th graders and/or 6th graders from our rec league to participate.
Jerseys, team gear and all that stuff will be forthcoming. We will use the same kilt we had last year, and anyone who out-grew last year's uniform is asked to donate their old uniform back to one of the newer players (unless the uniform is not in good shape).
HISTORY: We have fielded an "all-star" Select team for 5 years. Typically we have a 7th/8th grade team and we play other programs in the area as well as travel 2-4 times during the year. We almost always go to Cranbrook (Prep school in Bloomfield Hills, MI) in late May/early June and to Cincinnati in early May as well as 1 or 2 other jamborees/tournaments in Kalamazoo/Lansing, MI area. We typically carry 20-24 kids but playing time is not guaranteed as this is a travel team, not a rec team. All costs are paid by the parents of the Select player (uniform, travel, food, tournament fees, etc.) and practices are scattered during the season (based on player availability and coach availability).
SELECT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Each player candidate for Select Team needs to be registered with the CDC Lacrosse program and bring the latest report card / grade report from their school(participation on the select and house league teams is available to non-Carmel residents that do not have an age appropriate lacrosse program in their town / school)
Thank you and have a great '09 season!
