2012 CDC TRAVEL LACROSSE TRYOUTS/EVALUATIONS
Below is a portion of the the Tryout dates for Carmel Travel Lacrosse tryouts.
We are working on other dates aand will post them once they have been set.
These tryouts are for: BOYS -- 7/8 Hounds, 7/8 Select and 5/6 Select teams.
Evaluations for House League will occur in March (See Boys' Rec Page)
You must be registered for CDC spring lacrosse to attend the tryouts/evaluations.
BOYS – HOUNDS and Boys 7/8 SELECT or 5/6 SELECT TRYOUTS:
Jan. 29 BOYS --TRAVEL EVALUATIONS @ CHS
@ 5:30 - 7:30 PM Hounds and 7/8 Select
@ 7:15 - 9:00 PM 5/6 Select
Feb. 5 BOYS - 5/6 SELECT -- EVALUATIONS @ CHS
@ NOON -- 1:30 PM 5/6 SELECT -- Skills, Drills
Feb 12 BOYS -- TRAVEL EVALUATIONS @ CHS
@ 5:30 - 7:15 PM 5/6 Select
@ 7:00 - 9:00 PM Hounds and 7/8 Select
CHS = Carmel HS - Fieldhouse
Teams will be posted on the CDC website within 48 hours of the last evaluation date
for each grade.
Evaluations for the 7th/8th Grade teams will be performed by CHS Head Coach Tom
Coons and his CHS staff.
The evaluations/tryouts should be attended by all boys interested in Hounds, 7/8 Select
or 5/6 Select. We will be assessing LAX skills, athletic talent, attitude, team
building and field awareness utilizing drills, instruction and scrimmage
drills/play.
If you are unable to make a session, your absence should be
absences will be taken into account when selecting travel teams.
Evaluations are open to all 5th/6th and 7th/8th grade boys (on the appropriate scheduled date)
and require wearing of full equipment.
Travel team practices will begin the latter part of February for Hounds and 7/8 Select and
early-March for 5/6 Select. The season will continue until early June.
If you are interested in coaching one of these teams, please submit your name to Tom
Coons in advance. Head coaches will be selected by the Travel General Manager AFTER
teams have been selected.
