We are excited for the start of the spring 2012 rec house league lacrosse season. Please find important information below regarding the start of our season Please note that some of the times and dates may change so please check this page frequently. This page is for rec league information only and does NOT pertain to travel lacrosse. For information on travel teams please visit the travel page.

1.   Evaluations – Evaluations will take place at the Carmel High School Field House which is attached to Carmel High school behind the Freshman Center on Sunday, March 18th from 1pm – 4pm. Please bring helmet, stick and gloves.

·        3 / 4 grade – 1pm – 2pm

·        5 /6 grade – 2pm – 3pm

·        7 / 8 grade – 3pm – 4pm

 

If your child has already been evaluated for a travel team they do not need to attend the house evaluations.

 

2.  Practice dates and times: All teams will practice two days per week from   6pm – 7:30pm. Days will be as follows:
 

·        3 /4 grade – Tuesdays and Thursdays

·        5 /6 grade – Tuesdays and Thursdays

·        7 /8 grade – Mondays and Wednesdays

 

Practices will alternate between Claybourne Fields and River Road to be fair to families that live in both east and west Carmel. Practices will begin on Monday, April 9th. You will be contacted by your coach a few days prior to the beginning of practices.

 

3.  Requests – We cannot honor any requests for practice locations.  All of the grade level teams will be practicing at the same time and place so setting up car pools should not be a problem. We would also like to have team parity so the only requests that will be honored for team assignments will be that brothers will be assigned to the same team.

 

4.  Games – Games will be played on Sunday afternoons, beginning Sunday April 15th through Sunday, June 10th at River Road between 1pm and 4pm.  There will be no games held on Sunday, May 27th due to the Memorial Day holiday. There may be a few games during the week that will be played against other programs within the Indianapolis metropolitan area. Exact game schedules and times will be given to you by your coach.

 

5.  Coaching – We are in need of commissioners, coaches and assistant coaches for all grade levels. Please keep in mind that most of the lacrosse coaches have never played the game before. If you are interested in coaching we will hold coach’s clinics beginning mid to late February to bring you up to speed.  If you are interested in helping please email me at kevin.mendell@hotmail.com.
 

6.  Third Annual Championship Jamboree –  The Rec League boys/girls championship Jamboree will be held either the first or second weekend in June at Carmel High School stadium and upper fields. Date to be confirmed. This will include all play-offs and final championship games as well as food, activities, lacrosse competitions and all around fun for the kids. Please note that our lacrosse season will go into Summer break. Please keep this in mind when planning summer vacations to be fair to your son’s team.

 

7.  Weather cancellations – In the event of inclement weather please check the Carmel Dad’s Club website for updates on field closures and practice and game cancelations.

 

8.  Sponsorships – The lacrosse program is looking for team sponsorships for the upcoming season. If you are interested in sponsoring a team please contact Jan Smith - jsmith@carmeldadsclub.orgat Carmel Dad’s Club.
