7th-8th Grade Junior High School Baseball Welcome to Carmel Dads' Club 7th-8th Grade Baseball! Combining 7th and 8th grade boys since 2003, Junior High School Baseball has been a very competitive and growing league over the past several years, typically consisting of 10 teams. Players registered will be notified by their coaches just prior to the Carmel Schools' Spring Break. Practices are scheduled to begin the week after Spring Break, with games beginning in late April, and continuing through the end of June, with an unseeded league tournament. Players will typically have 2 games per week, with possible night games beginning after the end of the school year. Games are usually played at O'Malia Field and Shirley Field at the Carmel Dads' Club complex, and at Freshman Field and Clay Middle School Field, west of CDC near Clay Middle School. Registration costs cover uniform shirt, cap, and socks, as well as paid umpires. The 7th-8th grade league will use modified high school rules. A 3-team round-robin All Star league tournament is also being considered. In the past, this tournament runs for 2 weeks immediately following the regular season, and ends in mid-July. Check back on this website later in the baseball season for more details. NOTE: EVEN IF your boy is playing for a Junior High School baseball team, they MAY ALSO PLAY in this CDC league. We respect the Junior High School teams, and make every effort to minimize conflicts with their practices and games. We look forward to seeing you on the fields! 9th-12th Grade High School Baseball: Welcome to Carmel Dads' Club 9th-12th Grade Baseball! Our high school league has shown steady growth in both teams and participation since the four-grade format was adopted for the 2004 season. Last summer, 16 teams comprised of nearly 200 boys participated, including twelve teams of Carmel players, and four teams of players from the Hamilton Southeastern School District. Registered players will be notified by coaches shortly after Spring Break. Practices begin in mid-April. Games start in late April and conclude around the first of July, with a post-season tournament. Early season games are played on Saturdays and Sundays, with weekday games added following the end of the school year. Once again this year, we encourage boys to SIGN UP WITH A FRIEND and we will make every effort to place both boys on the same team. The 9th-12th grade league utilizes modified high school rules with paid umpires and volunteer coaches. Registration costs include uniform shirt, cap, and socks. Games are typically played at O'Malia Field and Shirley Field at the Carmel Dads' Club complex, and at Freshman Field and Clay Middle School Field, west of CDC near Clay Middle School.
